This 000-18 is a wonderful vintage orchestra-size acoustic with all the charm and character one hopes to find in a seasoned Martin. The V-shaped neck feels substantial yet comfortable in hand. The tone is warm, cohesive, and full-bodied, with excellent balance and a mature, woody character. While it shows signs of use consistent with its age, a more thorough restoration would benefit its playability. The guitar currently plays in the cowboy chord area but would benefit greatly from neck reset and refret to give the guitar modern playability.
It was previously owned by Dick Penner, author of the Roy Orbison hit "Ooby Dooby." The headstock bears a plaque with Penner's name, and there are several images online of Penner holding the guitar.
Includes the original hardshell case (OHSC).
