C.F. Holcomb Kodiak, Walnut, 2022, Natural

This 2022 C.F. Holcomb Kodiak is a distinctive modern resonator built by Santa Cruz luthier Christopher Holcomb. The Walnut construction and radiused top and back give the instrument a different approach to the traditional resonator design, with the wood playing a larger role in the overall response. Holcomb developed the Kodiak with tapered sides and a neck built from the heel up, allowing for a more streamlined construction while retaining the character of a spider-cone resonator. This example lets the Walnut take center stage, and represents the highly individual approach found throughout Holcomb’s instruments.Includes black Calton hard shell case.
